Helping High Streets is a new programme designed to boost the prospects of businesses based in Oxfordshire’s high-footfall locations. Running until the end of March 2026, this initiative offers tailored support to help high streets remain vibrant and resilient.
What is the programme about?
Helping High Streets focuses on businesses operating in traditional high street settings – from rural market towns to Oxford’s bustling city centre. The programme recognises the vital role these businesses play in community life and the wider economy.
How will it work?
Helping High Streets is set to enhance the prospects of dozens of high street organisations through a mixture of support delivery styles – this includes:
- Place-based support: We’ll deliver targeted support in one key area within each district.
- Vale of White Horse: Faringdon
- South Oxfordshire: Watlington
- Oxford City: Cowley Road
- West Oxfordshire: Carterton
- Cherwell: Kidlington
- Online resources: Additional support will be available online for eligible high street businesses across the county. Full details will be announced soon.

Who can benefit?
