Cherwell manages its budget with great care and foresight, but like other authorities around the country we face a significant financial test in future years.
In response, we have worked hard to identify efficiencies and are proposing new savings of £1.785m to meet this challenge and protect the key services our residents rely on.
We are also developing a transformation programme that aims to find new and smarter ways of working to protect frontline services in future years.
Proposals also include investments in new temporary accommodation to alleviate homelessness in the district, allowing us to spend less on emergency temporary accommodation in the future.
Despite the financial challenges councils across the country are facing, this is a positive, carefully prepared set of budget proposals, and I encourage you to take part in the consultation.
